Abdel has been appointed as Counsel at Windt Le Grand Leeuwenburgh as per 1 September 2020. Prior to that, as of 2007, Abdel has worked as a lawyer (advocaat) at De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek (in Amsterdam, New York and The Hague) and subsequently at AKD (in Rotterdam). In between his time at AKD and Windt Le Grand Leeuwenburgh, Abdel practiced law independently as a lawyer under the name Tahtah Advocatuur and as (interim) legal counsel under the name Tahtah Legal Services.
Abdel was also a (scientific) lecturer at both Utrecht University School of Law (Molengraaff Instituut voor Privaatrecht) and Erasmus University (Erasmus School of Law), from 2015 to 2017.
Over the years, Abdel has developed a broad corporate and commercial law practice, both advising and litigating on complex corporate and commercial disputes, and advising on, drafting and analysing various types of commercial contracts. His broad practice enables him to advise and represent clients across various sectors, such as health care institutes, telecom providers, financial services providers and companies in the food and non-food industries.
