Intellectual Property Law
Annemarije van Nijendaal has been affiliated with Windt Le Grand Leeuwenburgh since November 2023, first as a legal associate and, since her admission to the bar in 2024, as an attorney. Within the firm, she focuses on matters relating to intellectual property law.
She graduated cum laude from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam with a Master’s degree in Intellectual Property Law and ICT, writing her thesis on referential trademark use within trademark law. Earlier, she also completed a Master’s degree in Civil Law cum laude at Leiden University, specializing in intellectual property law. During her studies, she gained experience through internships in both private practice and the corporate sector, worked as a student assistant at a law firm, and was employed at a trademark agency.
Recent matters
- Acting for one of the largest logistics service providers in the Netherlands in complex proceedings concerning the liability of logistics service providers in cases of alleged trademark infringements by third parties.
- Acting for an oil company before the Rotterdam District Court and on appeal before the Court of Appeal in The Hague in a dispute with a tank storage company concerning a customs reassessment.
- Acting for a parallel trader in proceedings regarding alleged trademark infringement, focusing on protecting the position of the parallel trader vis-à-vis the trademark owner.
